According to the CE-1 service manual, there are 2 versions of the circuit board - ET-10C & ET-10D. Just to be confusing, the ET-10C PCB is actually the newer board. The change happened at serial number 665600 (and higher).
ICs 1 and 3 were changed (single in-line op amps) from TA7504S to TA7136P. The input pins on these opamps are reversed, so they are not pin compatible. The PCB was changed to accommodate this. 2 caps & a resistor were added to each opamp & a cap was removed from IC1. Interestingly, the caps & resistor that were added already had component places on the PCB of the earlier version, but were left empty (on my example).
R48 on both schematics is a 2.2k resistor. On the earlier circuit (at least in the example I have), R48 is a 4.7k resistor on the PCB with another 4.7k resistor tacked onto the bottom of the board in parallel - giving you 2.35k. On the later board, (my example, again), R48 is simply a 2.2k resistor on the PCB.
The later version also adds some protection zeners on the outputs.
Another interesting oddity of the CE-1 is that the 2.2K resistor tied to source of Q13 has no place on the PCB. It is tied to the leg of the FET and its other leg goes into the PCB where the source of Q13 normally would go. This was not corrected on the revised board.

BTW, I've noticed that there are at least 3 different of those bottom plates with the model & S/N info that I've seen on ebay. I've started collecting photos for posting later. |

Do you mean that the LED on the right doesn't flash with the chorus/vibrato rate or the left LED doesn't flash with peaks in the guitar signal? If you have a volt meter and some electronics skillz, you could check the wires going to the LED(s) in question to see if there is voltage going to the LED. LEDs will fail. Digikey has the odd 4mm size that CE-1s use, BTW. |

Love the CE-1. I've just dusted mine off and started using them again. I own 2, on the later serial number it has a third fuse on the 240V positive, 50ma and the two fuses on the board are 1200ma. I owned a 3rd, and the enclosure was taller than the others. Also, the LEDS have stopped flashing, they don't light up at all. Have ever had this problem with yours.

I'll show the earlier version first. From the outside, the obvious change is the serial number tag. On the older version, it is a dedicated CE-1 tag. Later, Boss made it a generic tag and the model number was stamped into it like the serial number was. I have no idea when this change happened.
