Hi Laurie,
Nice score! And now we can start to compare the ML-2 and FDR-2 PWBs to each other what parts are the difference: welcome to the Digital World where the biggest deal is the software itself ...
cheers

Hi everybody !
I was taking a look at the XT-2's board, and find out that there's two leds on it, the same happens in my Danelectro's Pastrami Overdrive... So why these two leds are there ? In my Dano OD the leds lights soft when I play soft and hard, when I play hard...
Thanks if somebody can tell me why.

The LEDs are the "clipping diodes" - they are what actually generate the distortion. |

Boss TU-2 tuner. MIT 2001, S/N HO68929
Disassembled for cleaning - previous owner had spilled something that seeped down around the buttons and was starting to oxidise some of the solder joints. Caught it in time - cleaned the spillage and resoldered affected joints.

Does anyone have an idea how you get four pedals to sound in parallel with your orginal guitarsound?
Why this question? Because that is what is says on the text with the info about the J-5.
I think this cannot be done, because once you have connected your pedals from the J-5 you will still need 4 outputs to go to your amp. Well in that case you might as well use a mixer to get similar results.
Overal nice option the J-5, would be nice if it had volumecontrols as well. Not surprise to see there are no electronics inside the box, since it is more of a routing-tool for different inputs.
If it would have been batterypowered you would have seen some electronics like in the AB switch pedal.
I like this thread--noticed it a little late, but heh?!--, great pictures, good to see the changes from older pedals into the newer ones, different lay-outs etc. Great Stuff!! |
